Most of these conditions affect the uterus, which is the hollow, muscular organ that holds a baby as it grows inside of a pregnant woman. Common types of gynecologic conditions – such as fibroids (non-cancerous growths in the uterine wall), endometriosis (non-cancerous growths of the uterine lining) or prolapse (falling or slipping of the uterus) – can cause chronic pain and heavy bleeding, as well as other disabling symptoms.

When medication and other treatments are unable to relieve symptoms, hysterectomy – the surgical removal of the uterus – is often recommended to provide a more effective, definitive, long-term solution. In fact, this procedure is the second most common surgical procedure for women in the United States, and an estimated one third of all U.S. women will have a hysterectomy by age 60.

Dr. Dacus joined Seasons OB/GYN in the summer of 2006 bringing with her a specialization in Urodynamics and bladder incontinence. She is board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology, and is also a member of the American Medical Association as well as the South Carolina Medical Association and the Amercian College of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

Dr. Stroud is board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and is a proud member of the American Medical Association as well as the South Carolina Medical Association, the Charleston Medical Association and the Thegos Society of Charleston.  She is also head of the Credentialing Committee for Trident Hospital.

Dr. Richard Day has been practicing in the greater Charleston area for over 28 years.  He was born and raised in Surrey, England, and from there he attended the University Of Edinburgh in Edinburgh, Scotland where he earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Science with honors in Genetics.  He then went on to study at the University of London’s Cardiothoracic Institue where he earned his Ph. D.  In 1976, Dr. Richard Day moved to Ontario, Canada where he attended the McMaster University Medical School finishing with a degree in medicine.  By 1983 he graduated from the Medical University of South Carolina for OB/GYN.  Dr. Day is board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology, and is a member of the Charleston Medical Society, South Carolina Medical Association, and the American Medical Association.

Dr. Day started Seasons OB/GYN in 1983 and has been serving the Charleston area ever since.  He specializes in Vaginal Reconstructive Surgery.
